No Country For Old Men

No Country For Old Men

Title: No Country for Old Men

Length: 2:02

In What room I watched it in: Living Room

Who I’m watching it with: Myself

Reason I bought the DVD: It was up for an Academy Award and my friend told me it was pretty cool. Also it won the Best Picture Oscar

15 word plot summary: Man finds bag of money, hunted by insane bounty hunter, best scenes all off-camera

Awesomest Character: Javier Bardem as Anton Chigurh

Look how awesome he looks!

The hitman hired to track down Josh Brolin’s character. All this guy does is goes around killing people because it’s his job and uses some awesome air weapon thingy. He just makes me nervous every time he is on the screen, like will he kill this person or let them live. He seems to be happier ethically if the person dies, which is something different in a character.

Favorite Quote:Here last week they found this couple out in California. They rent out rooms for old people, kill'em, bury'em in the yard, cash their social security checks. Well, they'd tortur'em first, I don't know why. Maybe the television set was broke.” Tommy Lee Jones

Random actor: Stephen Root as listed on IMDB as Man Who Hires Wells.

"I'm gonna hire you!"

Root is in a million movies and is in this one for like 3 minutes and gets killed. He’s in most movies by the Coen Brothers and is in this one as well. You may remember him as the guy with the goggles from Dodgeball or Milton from Office Space.

Do they say the title in the movie: For some reason I thought they did, like in one of Tommy Lee Jones’ long rambling speeches, but nope, it’s not in there.

Best Scene: When Javier Bardem gets hit by the car and borrows the kid’s shirt. Awesome. He has a bone coming out of his arm and just walks away.

When will I feel the need to watch it again: Probably not for another year or so. If I’m in the mood to watch Bardem just being creepy as heck I’ll watch it.

Best IMDB fact: The Coen Brothers used a photo of a brothel patron taken in 1879 as a model for Anton Chigurh's hair style. Looking at its weirdness after getting the hair cut, Javier Bardem said "Oh no, now I won't get laid for the next two months".

I don't remember this happening
